The Empathizer

A Limited Audio Series

What happens when Edgar Allan Poe meets modern politics?

After a second civil war splits America, a Zionist Jew who fled to the conservative Eastern states returns to bury his parents in progressive New California. When a deadly pandemic sweeps the region, he and his estranged sister Judith take refuge in the fortress of Gravity Darker—a rapper-turned-politician hosting an elaborate masquerade for the progressive elite.

Inside seven color-coded cyber-chambers, the wealthy party while the world outside dies. But our protagonist discovers something far more disturbing than decadence: a horrifying experiment called "The Radical Empathizer" that harvests human brains to artificially manufacture empathy.

As the pandemic breaches the compound walls, this grotesque utopia collapses—exposing the hollow nature of performative progressivism and privilege.

Based on Edgar Allan Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death"
